How to register an exemption and the forms you need to complete.
Register online or by form
Online registration is the quickest and easiest way of registering your exemption.
Please note, you cannot register the following online:
- exemption T11 for the treatment of WEEE
- bulk exemptions at multiple sites
- companies based outside the UK who do not have a UK address
These registrations should be made by post using the form for registering exempt waste operations or the separate T11 registration form.

Registering exemption T11 for the treatment of WEEE
You will need to register this exemption using the T11 form.
It costs £840 to register this exemption for a three year period.

If you want to pay by cheque, please complete and send the form, with your cheque, by post.
Registering exemptions where you have multiple sites
If you want to register more than 30 sites operating exemption(s) we provide a service to make it easier for you to make a multiple site (bulk) registration.
This service is not provided online and you will need to use the form for registering exempt waste operations.
To carry out a bulk registration, fill out part A, part B1, parts C, D, E and F of the application form for registering exempt waste operations.
You will also need to fill out the bulk registration spreadsheet.
How we confirm your registration
We have five working days to register your exemption. We will notify you by post or by email when this has been done.
