These examples are based on failed registrations.

The applicant was unable to meet all the criteria listed in the 'Technical guidance for the registration of small sewage effluent discharges' due to the presence of a sensitive receptor (a conservation site - Site of Special Scientific Interest).

The Cottage, Cottage Lane

The applicant has applied to discharge 1.08 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent from a four-bedroom domestic property.

Two scenarios have been prepared for The Cottage. They show what forms need to be completed and the supporting information required, depending on if you are discharging to ground (into land) or surface waters.

To apply for a new bespoke permit to discharge to groundwater via an infiltration system (into land) follow Option A:
